So I have finally worked out how to use my camera-hooray! Now my images will, at last, be more in focus. To kick off the celebration, I've got my 5 favourite make-up pieces for you.
In the summer months I tend not to wear foundation, as I either just sweat it out or it dries out my skin. It doesn't help that I can't ever find a perfect match for my skin, so I'm trying to get out of the habit of wearing it altogether. What I do use is Benefit's Porefessional balm in places that are a little red or I have large pores in, and then dab a little concealer on top of that. My concealer is just a plain one from Avon-if you'd like to see the product, please do let me know.
Now I don't know about you, but I know that if my brows don't look right, I don't look right. Up until quite recently I haven't really got on with eyebrow powders, but luckily I found this Technic Complete Brow Kit-it comes with a skin-coloured powder to put above your eyebrows, which I don't use. I may do a post on how I do my eyebrows in another post. To apply the powder, I use my angle brush and my eyebrow brush to find the natural shape of the eyebrow-I really do need a new one!
I'm really into eyeliner, but I'm also really into a great price (as you may have guessed from my clothes post from yesterday). This 2True liquid eyeliner really does do the job-and whilst I wouldn't recommend the whole brand of 2True, as truth be told the other products such as the nail polish and concealer are poorly made, the same cannot be said for this product. It's applicator is simple but fully-functional, and the substance doesn't get in my eyes, stick to my eyelashes, give me a rash or leave a burning sensation, as many other budget eyeliners do. I think, for £1.99, an eye-friendly eyeliner is something to really go for.
As with the brow kit, I hadn't really waded into the waters of this product until quite recently, but once I did I was so glad I had. My Colour Works eyeshadow palette has quickly made it's way to the heart of my make-up bag; once I had properly taught myself how to apply eyeshadow correctly, it really did do wonders to my face. I use the middle shade the most and the brown shade to the left of it, but I can honestly say that I would be happy using any of these neutral shades. I use my fluffy brush to apply.
Now the next two are really absolute basics when it comes to eye make-up, which are mascara and pencil liner. I put these two together because, well, I think they go together. I don't really wear just mascara on it's own and needs the pencil liner, and the pencil liner doesn't look right on my eye without the mascara. They really do complete each other. My mascara is the cheap and cheerful natural collection, which is sadly running out, and my liner is a little colour couture pencil-but is very interchangeable, and could literally be any working pencil liner.
That's it! My essential make-up kit. I hope you liked it, and feel free to ask about any of these products and where to get them, prices, etc. Tomorrow I'll be doing an everyday make-up tutorial, so I look forward to seeing you then!
Kimaginary :)
