Whilst I realise that for most people at this time of year lighting a fire is not particularly on their minds-especially if you are a confused Brit who struggles in the 20 degrees Celsius, let alone the 30s-I did want to make this video because I have started to really get into candles and smells and all that nice stuff. So let's get cracking.
This one I truly appreciate, as it not only has the smell but also the price. This cute candle came from Morrisons, and was only £1.50. Also, I have to admit that I am incredibly picky about the smells of candles, but this one wasn't too strong or pungent. I bought this candle in the cute cranberry smell.
I cannot get enough of these! I really can't. I don't know what I'll do if the shop near me doesn't sell these anymore, I might combust. This delightful duo are currently on sale at The Factory Shop for £1.50 each, and can I just say how much I wish my blog had a scratch and sniff section because wow....so good. They are from a collection of candles that are scented like the sweets called love hearts, and I got one in Strawberry Kiss and Vanilla Dream. They are so, so good to smell I can't even tell you. They aren't overly strong or synthetic to smell, and then you light it the smell is still there because I have had many a-time where I have bought a candle and as soon as you light it up all you can smell is burning. Which is not good to relax to.
Oh my goodness not only a big brand, but also above £1.50?!? I must have bought this feeling adventurous. This is by Yankee Candle in the scent of Fluffy Towels. Now, I have sniffed many of the collections and have found that:
A-the smell is way too overpowering,
B-the title of the candle has nothing to do with it's scent and I feel somewhat betrayed and unwilling to trust again or
C-the company have tried so hard to fit a scent to a title like 'mother or 3's dreams of becoming a model' which is so specific that all they could produce was a really weird and kinda gross scent.
This one is an absolute dream, which I think personally is because it smells like my old blanket as a child, and when I smelled it I almost shouted in the shop 'I know this smell! This is a smell I have smelt before!'. But I decided that instead of scaring the cluster of old women around me on their coach trip, I would buy it. I got it at a shop called Paradise Park for £3.50, but I'm sure if you're smarter than me you can get a cracking deal for these. I love that the candle is strong enough so I can put it in my bedside table and smell it from my bed, but I also love that when I smell the candle up close it doesn't make my brain want to implode.
There it is, my rather small candle collection as of yet. I do have more, but they're all little tea lights and I don't really feel like they are candles really. However, should you let me know that you want to see my tea lights in their various ornaments, I'd be happy to make a separate post. Tomorrow, it's all about my favourite hair care products. Ta for reading!
