My everyday make-up tutorial!

DISCLAIMER-I realise that most of you will think 'but Kim....why are you doing a make-up tutorial? You aren't a professional make-up artist!' which, of course, is absolutely true and fair enough. I just thought for anyone that has asked me how my make-up is done when I wear it, or for people that are curious or nosey like I am, that I would show you. Also, for more details and pictures and me being more eloquent on my beauty products, see my previous blog post. On to another point...when I say everyday make-up, I don't mean to say that as if I wear make-up everyday or encourage others to wear make-up everyday...in fact, I think you should embrace your beautiful naked face, and claim it as your own! Regarding these in mind, I will start my routine by posting my face before my make-up and be on my merry way.

As I stated in my other blog post; when my brows are bad, I'm bad, so I always start with brushing out my eyebrows and filling them in with my Technic Complete Brow Kit. I know that my eyebrows aren't very symmetrical, but that's their natural shape and I don't want to choose between the two shapes they make, so I just fill them in as they are.
I then notice how defined my eyebrows are and think I look silly when I have no eye make-up on, and so I move on to my eyeliner. Sometimes I go with a plain eyeliner or some liquid liner on top and pencil on bottom, but today I went for the usual ol' wing. I then used my Natural Collection mascara.
Onto some skin. As I also said before in my blog, I don't really like to use foundation for a few reasons, and this time was the same. I just used a little of my Porefessional balm from Benefit, topped with a little concealer on my imperfections. I think it's simple, but effective when you're meeting people and want to look your best.

I then set to work with a wee bit of contouring. Though I didn't use too much of anything because stuff on my face feels just...ugh. So I used a little bit of blush on the apples of my cheeks, a sweep of bronzer under the cheekbones and up round the temples and highlighter just above the bronzer, all from my L&B palette. Here is me looking intensely moody as I add my highlighter.
Ah, now here is the secret to my eyebrows-my eyelids are quite oily, and generally smear any powdered highlighter all over my eyelid/face after a little heat/time. My secret is white eyeliner underneath the eyebrow and then dab with your finger around that general area. The second part of that tip I cannot stress enough-the amount of weird looks you can get walking down the street when, unbeknownst to you, you have a vivid white line under your brows.
Now you have the brows under control, you gotta get the eyelids. I use my neutral Colour Works shadow palette, using the middle colour (read my previous blog post for a picture) around the crease and on the eyelid.
And that's it! Our wonderful journey has sadly ended, but we are left bearing it's wonderful fruits of a better-looking face (hopefully). Here is the end result.

If you think this make-up was good, please let me know! I do like to hear whether I'm being successful at make-up sometimes, it's always lovely to hear from you. Tomorrow, I'll be doing a post called: crop tops-how to wear them. Interesting? If you think it is, be sure to come back tomorrow to read my post.

Kimaginary :)
